Today we went to the house that EM Montgomery based her book Ann of Green Gables. It was her grandfathers cousins house and these are a couple of photos I took of the house and Anns bedroomIMG_2167IMG_2174IMG_2186IMG_2195

Here is grandad in Matthews barn (Matthew inthe book) students were dressed up as the characters in the book… A good summer job Anona ??

It was so hot in the 30’s today and humid so we headed for the coast.

Today we explored the north section of the Prince Edward Island. Here we found white sand beaches with very fine sand that stuck to you. This is Belmont Provisional ParkIMG_2196 We did sunbathe on this beach for a while before travelling to the most northern part of the island.

On the way we stopped for lunch I had clam dinner and grandad had a tasty cheese burger, all home made. MMMM at a café near Summerside.

This is North Cape at the end of northcape drive. It has a sandbank that people were paddling towards

The lighthouse had a huge mast next to it and surrounded by a fence and restaurant and buildings and a wind farm too. I disguised it all in this photo by positioning myself under the embankment and shooting upward. Grandad helped me with this view.

July 4th tomorrow independence day in US, so we’ve missed those fireworks. The ones we saw at Charlottetown were brilliant on Canada day and literally right above us with the sparks falling in the sea close by! Scary but lovely!

We are having a lovely time on PEI xx
