Arrived in Boston Monday

Hi

We had a great journey from Heathrow 6 hours later we were in Boston. Immigration took a while but the car hire was exasperating. It took 1 hour plus to pick up a car.

We are at a BW plus and it has a pool and gym. There is a good breakfast, fruit coffee and tea and cookies to help yourself to during the day. We’ve both had a swim in the pool this evening πŸ˜€

Today we headed towards Salem and arrived too early as everything opens at 10am. So we sat by the inlet and enjoyed the views. It is very hot and humid but we managed to find a fresher wind in some places during the day.

We explored a 16th century house famous for the book “the seven Gables” . I enjoyed it very much but grandad was bored.

Salem is made into something it’s not for the sake of tourism. It is where the witch trials took place in the 16th century. I studied this for my GCE O level English lit.

Next we explored Cape Ann. This was beautiful with 4 main towns and a scenic byway to follow the route. There were flags everywhere for Veterans Day.

We liked the statues to the fishermen lost at sea and to their wives and children. Manchester by the Sea was the very first fishing port established in USA.

We stopped for ages at port. It has many tourist and craft shops on a headland called bear. A bear had washed up there from the sea, hence the name. Artists paint the area all the time

We took our time here and hope you like my photos

Tomorrow we are exploring Boston.
