Last Day in Death Valley

Last night we went back to the sand dunes to see them in shadow. It was so windy the sand was being swept up into the air and swirling around. The sun was behind the clouds and so no shadows oops! Never mind! It was like standing with a hot hairdryer pointed at us.IMG_1086

It was cooler today and we went straight to Dantes view. The air was clearer and we got some lovely views. Here were 5000+ feet above the valley, it was a beautiful sight.IMG_1084 IMG_1082

I used the fish eye lens too and liked the effect I got.IMG_1081

On the way down we saw lots of desert flowers.

We weaved our way through a dirt track to see the hills surrounding. It was bumpy and lots of tight bends but no steep drops to worry about.

This is a strange shaped rock thrown out of a volcano. It looks like an alien.

We slowly stopped at all our favourite spots, had our lunch and then said goodbye to the lowest part of the world we are ever likely to be on again.
